Overview
After meeting our guide, you will start your walking tour heading to the old town of Tallinn, to reach the centre of Tallinn it will take approximately 20 minutes.
On this walk you will see the first medieval tower called Stout Margaret from the 16th century, we will continue the tour to Pikk (Long) Street where you will see the medieval house of the Brotherhood of Blackheads, Great Guide House which is from the year 1410.
Continuing on the walk you will see the Church of Holy Spirit with its 17th century clock which was made by a famous local master Christina Ackermann.
You will see the oldest café in Tallinn Maiasmokk where you can buy one of the local speciality marzipan souvenirs. Tallinn's Town hall square has always been the heart of Tallinn's Lower Town, here you can see buildings such as the town councils Apothecary from 1422 and the Town Hall from 1404.
We will continue to St Nicholas Church, here we will have an outside view where your guide will tell you many tales relating to the buildings important history.
Then onto Dominican convent and within the grounds you will find a colourful market called St Catherine's arts and crafts centre.
We will continue the tour with a walk by the main street Viru Street with its many little shops and cafes.
Your tour ends in the Lower Town near the Viru Gates, where your guide will leave you to allow free time to explore by yourself. Here you can shop, stroll or enjoy a meal in one of the many outside cafes before making your own way back to the cruise port approximately 15 minutes walk away.
