As you disembark your tender your driver will be waiting for you ready to commence your tour to Nice.
You'll travel first to the Roman ruins of Cimiez. This hillside district of Nice is now the home of the annual jazz festival, but in ancient times was the setting for a spectacular arena, amphitheater, thermal baths, and basilica. You'll also see the museums dedicated to two of France's most celebrated artists - Matisse and Chagall.
Next, to the site of the Fontaine de Gairaut (Gairaut Fountain). This handsome monument commemorates the arrival in Nice of piped water in 1863, and stands in an enviable site, providing a beautiful panorama across the city and out to sea, don't forget your camera!
Nice is home to a number of fine buildings: you'll travel to the Eglise Russe (Russian church). St. Nicholas Cathedral is one of the most beautiful structures of the French Riviera.
Inaugurated in 1912 by Tsar Nicolas the 2nd, this is the biggest Russian Orthodox Cathedral outside Russia. Stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, the famous "English Promenade" that runs alongside the beach, with the luxurious Negresco hotel and sidewalk cafes to admire.
From the top of the Colline du Chateau, you'll see amazing views of the Mediterranean and the Old Town, where the Greeks settled to create the city of Nice some twenty-five centuries ago.
The pretty flower market, tiny craft shops, and narrow streets are filled with tempting attractions. Watch the world go by in a stylish pavement café, tasting tempting local delicacies including Pissaladiere (onion and anchovies pie), Pan Bagnat (vegetable and tuna sandwich), or the traditional Salade Niçoise.
You will then return back to the port in plenty of time for your Cruise Ships departure.
